Preparing your team for an adoption workshop
A short checklist so facilitators and feature owners walk into the room with shared evidence instead of opinions alone.
A Feature Review Workshop works when the room already shares a feature shortlist. Arrive with five features at most. More than that turns the session into a tour of the backlog rather than a decision forum.
Ask each feature owner to bring one chart they trust and one anecdote from support or research. The combination keeps discussion grounded. Charts without stories feel abstract; stories without charts invite speculation.
Designate a note-taker who is not facilitating. Capture owners for every action before people leave. Adoption work stalls when follow-ups dissolve into ‘we should look into that.’
If your group spans product, design, and engineering, spend the first fifteen minutes agreeing on what ‘adopted’ means for this release cycle. That definition becomes the workshop’s north star and prevents debates about vanity spikes.
